This model is a replica of the ship called the Mayflower. This model took 14 months part time, or around 300 working hours to finish. I used loads of exoctic woods, it started out life as a commercial kit, 3 paper plans and around 350 planks.

The rigging is made from simple string and tied together to create the climbing ropes. The sales were sewed (by me, with direction from my wife)! and then died using tea to achieve an old and weathred look.

On a project like this patience is the name of the game, and believe me I lost mine on numerous occasions.
